Turn on A/C but exterior lights go out

So here's the info and the situation

02 Grand Prix GT 3.8.

When I start my car and am in park the A/C works fine on all levels and my daytime runners or night time full lights are on. Once I put it in gear the A/C will only work on level 5. The lights work if the A/C is off or on level 5 but if I change the level the A/C stops working and so do my exterior lights?

Anyone else have this issue or anything similar? I would think they are 2 separate systems but the lights work fine as long as my A/C is off or on level 5.

I replaced the blower motor and resistor 5 months ago when the heat stopped working and I had no issues for a few months.

The only thing I can think of is the resistor is screwed up but how can it affect my lights and only when in gear?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm no expert....but I was having similar issues today: daytime running lights cycled on and off when I turned on the a/c. I also heard a clicking noise under the steering column. From the brief research I did it seems to be an ignition switch issue.
