• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Turbo or Supercharge?

Decent mid size to full size sedan that has any kind of modding potential is going to be hard to find.
Esp one that doesn't cost a fortune for parts and upkeep.

True, I have driven my friends Golf and I easily fit into it, I hit my head on most other vehicles, and it is quick but, it just has to many issues with reliability. I've looked at WRX/STIs but the large spoiler and intake annoy me, too racey/cop magnet. I have always heard good things about Saabs but the 9-3 doesnt seem to have the same potential that a modded GP has.

If only Pontiac put in a decent tranny...

Could go all out and re-do the drivetrain. Make the GP rwd. Take like a Camaro and build the tranny up and do all that work. I don't know what all is involved but I know its been done before =P

Look up the prices on a Scoobi and see what it takes to mod one of those, lol... You won't like it. Maybe look into the Saab 9-5?

If it has to be a 4 door id mod a evo over a sti everyday just fix the trans/transfercase issues first.

Or it chokes me to mention this but a srt4 should be pretty damn cheap and aftermarket is bigger than these cars....
People say nooo not a neon but we mod grand prixs so its pick your poison i guess.

If you DONT want to break your bank account don't buy a wrx/sti or evo...I had 3 previous subaru's before my 3800 and you will got fast for alot cheaper if you stay 3800 or do srt4 as ^ suggested...couple my buddies still have subaru's and the amount of money they have spent to go fast is huge...even just replacement parts are crazy spendy

Exactly besides the 3800 cars an srt4 is the only other option i can think of thats as cheap to mod simply because its a domestic vehicle!!!

Subi or evo will certanly cost wayyyy more

Then there is always the honda route but even thats a touchy subject lol!!

I'd like to see that. Considering the different directions the engines sit...

id rather a honda over an SRT 4 LOL
the only people who drive srt 4's are 18 year old kids who want cars that sound like diesel trucks. youre better off modding your prix. at least a prix can be tastefully modded and doesnt SCREAM rice

Mods in my sig. Very fun, "fast enough" street driven build. However, if I could go back in time and do it all over again I would go turbo for sure. Oh yeah, and I'm still running my 120k mile completely stock trans...

Thats the hardest thing is finding a car that can be tastefully modded. I saw a dodge dart around today, it looks nice but there is not much of an aftermarket(as of right now). Honda Civics are only driven by certain kind of people in my area...I much rather not be associated with them, and the cops like to profile. BRZ's/WRX/STI are to flashy for my taste and I know a few guys with them and they are always fixing things and paying speeding tickets(They get pulled over for doing 10 over when everyone is doing 10 over)

The only car that keeps coming up when Im looking around is the Golf but the cost of ownership seems high. Then again the only thing I go to the shop for is new tires and alinement, it seems like these people go to the shop to get their oil changed... I can't find any quick yet subdued Subarus.

Also, why is every car I look at mention all of the tech it has? I don't want all of that stuff just give me a radio and air/heat and I'm happy.

Unfortunately, that's what the general buying public wants to hear about and have. 90% of people want all the electronic crap and gadgets and could care less what kind of aftermarket go-fast parts are available or how fast it is in stock form. They see it as mobile office to get from point A to point B and that's it.
