tuning questions

Now this may be a dumb question but I couldn't really find a solid answer while searching and I am just starting to mod my car(or atleast try to) but my question is when I upgrade parts on my car will I need a new tune every time I add one part? Obviously if I learned how to tune then I would not have to pay someone to do it but if I add parts one at a time a few months or so apart from each other, will I always need to tune my car? I am thinking about buying and installing headers so I will need a tune after that correct? Once again sorry for the questions but I am trying to learn before I jump into things. Thanks in advance!

You dont need a tune after every part you install.

The stock PCM files can do alot. Add headers and the car will thank you and perform way better than it did before because the car can do what it was suppose to with the stock tune. Less KR, less timing being pulled via stock manifolds etc etc, so really adding smaller mods you dont need a tune. But a tune can always help.

If the air/fuel models are still accurate, then you should never have to retune.

But it seems the popular thing to do is skew everything so a retune is always required.

Answer: Depends who tunes it and how

If you drive the car on roads you will enjoy having the tranny tuned and fan turn on changed.

If you can get away with increased spark advance you may benefit.
