Tuning help

GAFF

PittState Automotive Tech
Ok well I just recently got a dhp tuner from a member on here. I have 1999 grand prix gt. It has been topswapped and tuned by someone other than me..

Here is my problems. I get the thing to register on my computer and all goes well. I read the pcm that works fine. Then I go to scan it and I make gauges but none of them work. They just show up as --. So I then try to start log screen turns green. I pause it. It goes red. Then I disconnect and I get a error saying.
Error # : 2101. Severity : 1
Error disconnect scanner.
It doesn't log anything and it wont read anything.. The first day i had it tho it worked when I plugged the serial directly into the laptop. But the only thing that worked was reading the gauges it wouldnt log then... My car got hit and took it to the shop and got it back this week and went to connect but it wouldnt.

I connected a keyspan that came with my tuner when i bought it.. I downloaded the proper thing from keyspan's website and got the keyspan all hooked up. I have downloaded the 1.2.4 software off here in the download section. It connects to port 5 and it works fine connecting and what not but I get the error that I stated above when doing the same thing. Also in the bottom left corner it says Update PIDs.

Can anyone help its making me real mad..

Things you should know. The software is all on a windows xp computer. I downloaded the newest framework and the other thing that was needed some windows thing.

Anything and everything would be greatly appreciated.

I never use the powrtuner scanner. I always use UVScan. Should be available in the same downloads section you got powrtuner from. Either program does not like to be disconnected often, I always need to hit stop log, then disconnect before moving the cable or disconnecting.

If you are having a problem with connecting, make sure you always use the same port or change it to the correct one your using. I would get fairly comfortable with everything before you go to write the pcm. If you are having problems with disconnecting and such, it may brick the pcm if you go to write to it and have a problem.

I have never tried to write anything yet. All I have do is read the pcm then tried to scan.. I dont disconnect any wires while scanning but i still get the same error. I leave it all plugged in the whole time. The port is on the right setting and all that is set up right it just gives me the disconnect error and wont show any of the gauges.

I got it to work.. Had to delete my scan config from before and now it scans reads and logs great.

Now in my buddys 98 gtp i cant read his.. I can scan it log it but it wont read!! Anyone help?

I downloaded it from the tuning site. Thanks though.

Where do i look to see if its supported?

This error just started happening to me... I added a gauge and restarted the scan and I get a bunch of dashes, no numbers. Error 2101. anyone know of a fix?
