I have a 2002 Grand Prix GT and I'm looking to possibly add a button under the spoiler to pop the trunk when the car is unlocked. I currently have an aftermarket remote start and push button start system installed in my car. When the system is in the regular mode to unlock and lock the car I have to go inside my car and use the button or use a manual key. So I've been looking up different relays to try and make this happen. I haven't double checked all the voltage pulses the trunk release and door lock use but I'm assuming its all 12V. I think I can make it work with a Mechanical Latching Relay to make the lock and unlock pulses a constant supply to allow the new trunk release button to work. So when I unlock the car it pulses and holds the contact closed which gives the button the power if used to open the trunk. and when Locked it switches the contact into the other position which makes the button unusable. Need to find a relay that is capable of doing this and a button that is weather proof and maybe similar to something like a hatch release button. Any help is greatly appreciated.
