• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Triple Edge Performance Tranny!!

I finally made the leap!. I figure the old 97 has almost 180k miles on it and the thing runs low-mid 13's at slowest. It's probably a good Idea to upgrade the tranny:th_thumbsup-wink: I dropped my tranny off to Dave today to get upgraded to a Street/ Strip build with 3.29s and a Beefed up input shaft.
He says it will be done within 2 weeks. I can't wait.

He seems like a great guy. He answered a lot of questions for me and he really knows his stuff. Once I get the tranny re-installed, I will update this thread with the details. I hear a lot of great things about his work. Got my fingers crossed:th_winking:

Dave built mine about a year ago. Its been in the car since december. 3.29, 4340 input shaft, and hd diff. I have about 12k on it, all hard miles. I run the desert fox tranny cooler and amsoil. The trans still runs like new. Dave is awesome, hes 1 of the few that actually know how to build transmissions and take care of his customers.

i have 5k ish on mine taking it out now and dropping in another car made almost enough on the job to pay fr the orig purchase

daves a great guy answered a **** ton of questions i had

Aaaight check it out. I got the tranny installed finally. First off, I want to say that Dave is the man. He is busy as hell, and he made sure he did everything to get me my tranny Friday as promised.

Anyhow, I had it put in, and all I can say is Holy sh!t. I didn't realize how much power I was losing between the crank and the wheels with my old trans. The damn thing pulls like a train now, and the 3.29's get me out the hole Much faster. cruising around town, the acceleration seems effortless, kind of like the car wants to just jump out and go. I was really impressed merging onto the highway when I made my POS all seasons chirp into 3RD GEAR !!!. the shifts are nice and firm yet very comfortable. This is the most power I have felt my car gain since I did the cam, headers, pulley, tune and exhaust ( installed all at once) I have won some and lost some to the new camaro SS's with my old trans. I beat anything from dodge except the viper and I murder mustangs. I recently raced a brand new C6 vette (and Lost) Lol. But with some tires that wont spin clear thru second, I would have easily given him a good run. Check out a couple vids.
