Tried to jump car, wouldn't start

Hi I don't have much knowledge about cars and today I tried to start my car and it didnt start and the last time this happened I jumped it and it was fine so I tried the same thing today and my car didnt start. I was hoping someone might have an idea what's wrong and/or a remedy to the problem.
 


you hear a click when you turn the key? the horn and lights and everything still working?

could be a bad starter, hitting it with a hammer can sometimes make it work again. if it does work after beating on it, it needs to be replaced.

or it could be dirty battery connections, take them off clean up both sides, cable ends and the battery terminals.

Are you sure the jumper cables had a good connection. I have seen this be a problem many times. There is something else that is keeping your car from starting on its own, but check the jumper cable connections to see if that is why it won't take a jump.
