Transmission woes

My 97 gtp is currently at the tranny shop. I had a new tranny put in last fall and it totally quit working this summer (it's under warranty so no $$ involved this time). They said the line pressure in the car was extremely high and tore things up. So they said they replaced a few things and put the tranny back in but it is still showing line pressure of over 220 psi at idle and 300 in reverse. They say I need a new pcm as the tranny is not getting a signal to control the pressure solenoid. Does this sound right?

Rarely do PCMs go bad (but it can happen), I would make sure all the wiring both internal and external to the transmission is checked. Itll take em 10 minutes to get a continuity tester and test it out.

They said the wires all the way to the pcm are good but it is not putting out any voltage which is apparently high line pressure. ( lower voltage = higher pressure?)

if you got a junk yard near by see if you can find another 97 pcm from a gp same model as yours na or sc. pop it in and see.

pcm needs to be from a 97. you got a one year only pcm.

Well the shop says they will take care of everything so I'm not to concerned, more just curious. They are putting a new pcm in it.

iirc theres one for sale here for like 35 shipped. some how im sure the shop will charge more for one, then the bigger question is can they change the vin # in the new pcm? cause you need that to pass inspection if you have it where you live.

They have a guy there that was going to "set it up" and told me all costs were covered as the tranny rebuild only lasted 6000 miles. They have been fantastic with the situation so far.

Question on this topic so at what point is too much whp for our transmissions? I have a 3.4, gen v swap, ported l67 throttle body, 1.9 rockers, 60lb injectors, cai, headers, tune pcm all that, switching to e85 soon when it gets tuned. At what point is too much on these transmissions? I have a 4t65e-HD in my 2000 gtp. I have read the 300m input shaft and a 7/8 chain will help. Guess two questions 1. Cost to put those two parts in? And 2. Can my stock tranny hold that much power I'm making? I guess I'm just a little worried. I have a shift kit in it currently and switched to dex6. I guess I'm just a little worried. I don't plan on running this at the track, nor do I just punch it off the line. Most my "get on it" moments are from a roll. Just curious on people's opinions....sorry if this is "jacking the thread". Just would like to know if anyone has experince at this power level when it comes to my cars. Thanks in advance, and I have done my homework researching, just would like some opinions. Thanks guys!

Input shaft will be your only worry over time, other than that imo at your level go nuts.

I got 1 yr with a 3.4 and 2 years with a turbo on a rebuilt trans @ 90k before the tc started acting up.
