transmission swap



im doing an 05 in the next few weeks,

theres a complete 6-speed swap all eady to bolt in with axles, clutch ect from cartuning performance available
 


And how much does that run with labor? ouch... i think i read a thread on clubgp or gpona about a fella that did it... quite a bit of fab time

not that i'm, saying it wouldn't be worth it...6 speed would be siiiiick

a 5 speed would probably be a hundred times more reliable and able to take more power than the 6 speed would...
 
how much for a swap into a 97-03 GP (GTP)?
$3000+?

im considering this for future too, as im gonna have to rebuild mine, so if i did why not go standard instead.
 


Also, ive heard from someone that guys have swapped a 5 speed from a Sunfire into a Grand Prix. I wonder how that would even work at all... how strong were those trannys? cause like sunfires have no power at all, so to think that it could handle 240hp + is kinda nuts.
Plus the fabrication to make it work and all.
again i have no idea, i just heard that.
Never actually seen someone with it done.

OMG. Worst shifting standard tranny ever. Like sooooo seriously.....
 
i had an 02 sunfire the was standard and it shifted great. i launched that thing all the time that i could and never had any problems. also locked it into gears and never threw me a problem and it had about 160xxxkm on the car.
