transmission swap questions

I have a 03 GT and i need to put a new transmission in it. according to ondemand5.com shop procedure is to drop it through the bottom. this would be ok if i had a lift but im not that fortunate i just have an engine hoist and a floor jack to work with. has anyone taken it out through the top? just looking for some suggestions.
 


if your thinking of pulling it thru the top ur gonna have to remove the engine also and thats kind of messy to say the least but you can do it
