Transmission service.

So, it's been a while since I've dropped the pan on a transmission, I'm taking care of my grand prix on Saturday.

I can't remember is it best to do it with the fluid warm or cold? When the pan is off if I pour a quart into the fill tube will it push old fluid out of the converter or just run straight through? Also the filter needs to be "primed" correct?

Do it warm, you don't want to get burned.
Just do the pan drop with new filter and trans fluid.
2 gallons of Dexron III is all the fluid needed.
Reuse your old original gasket, clean it up before reinstalling.
Make sure you clean the pan and magnet good.
It shouldnt take longer than a hour.
I just did it last month.

^^^ that.

Filter can't be primed per say, because once its back in there, there is 8 quarts of fluid to be dumped inside the trans which auto fills its anyway.

I don't know the last time my pan was dropped by the previous owner but wth my gtp, I can literally feel the car move with every shift and 3rd and 4th gear are real hard shifts and sometimes when it goes into 4th, after it shifts it like goes rum rum rum and doesn't sound right so I'm probably gonna drop my pan, check the trans mounts and hope I don't need anything done to the transmission
