Transmission or something else?

So to start off, the car is an 00 N/A with 119k miles on it. At about 117k miles i had the trans flushed because the previous fluid was slightly burnt. Before getting it flushed it would once in while shift hard after the car had warmed up and i had been driving for awhile. it would shift hard going into any gear but not as it would downshift. After the flush i have much of the same problem.

Yesterday as i was driving my car would not downshift. It seemed to be stuck in 3rd gear because as i was slowing to come to a stop the rpms kept dropping lower and lower without ever bouncing back up. finally car died and coasted to a stop. my brake pedal locked up but my brakes werent actually locked up which was wierd. car would start back up at first. i had it in park brakes still locked up. finally it started idled fine as if nothing had happened.

Any time it starts to shift hard i can immediately turn my car off at a stop turn it right back on literally after turning it off and it will stop shifting hard for awhile as if something has reset. turning it off and right back on fixes it temporarily everytime. Would this be a senor or still be the transmission im confused.

I think it's your tcc selonoid...mine died like this the other day as i came to a stop too...started it right back up and kept on driving.

what having a bad tcc solenoid be the cause of my rough shifts though? and why would turning the car off then back on like 5 secs later fix my rough shifting for awhile.

Couldn't tell ya on the hard shifting...but turning the car off probably temporarily resets the solenoid for a while but it eventually comes back.
Does you car kind of "jump" in 4th gear under very light acceleration. Mine did so i left my battery cables disconnected over night and it fixed the jumping problem but i think im gonna have to get a new solenoid...if that's even possible.

when you needed your TCC solenoid replaced could you here it get like stuck? before my trans starts rough shifting there will be like a tick noise like something is getting stuck. Also after hearing this noise the trans will start whining to.

Mine still needs replaced...
however i can't hear it make any noises.

check the wiring and connectors that plug in to your trans for corrosion or broken wire also check the wiring to the speed sensor i had a grand am with similar issues and found a broken wire in the harness going to the speed sensor the reason the car dies at a stop is the computer doesn't have a signal from the speed sensor and has no idea how fast the car is going and doesnt know to unlock torque converter thr speed sensor is by the right cv shaft on the trans
