• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Today, my tranny went out!:th_nervous:
Its only been about an hour so Im not 100% sure on the details. But none of the gears work, including Park!!! When in Park my car continues to roll (if on incline). When in Neutral, car in completely normal, no clicking noises or jerks. When in Drive or lower car doesn't budge, when I give it gas, gears spin making clicking like noise.

Reply back if you have had this problem before or have any experience that may be related to or like the one I have described.

Thanks,

The fact that park doesn't work, and no other gears work, leads me to believe that it's something wrong with the shifter cable or the selector bracket on the trans itself. Park is pretty much fool proof. Just a rod and a pawl that jams into a gear.

that happened to me when i broke one on my axles, same symptoms.but i think u would know if u broke one.

If the diff is bad it wont have park either-that is if the spider gears are broken or apart. Basically no park when in park position-you SHOULD manually check this by verifying the shift arm on the case IS in park position- will be a problem between the diff and the wheels which will include the differential, output shaft, cv joints-axles.
