transmission compatibility concern

I have a friend of mine that needs a new trans for her 03 impala with the l36. We found a donor out of an 03 3.4 impala. I did a quick search but found conflicting information on whether this will work properly. I'm pretty sure the gear ratio's are different. Not a problem, I just need to know what gear ratio the 3.4 4t65 has. Also, I found that the torque converters are different between the 3.4 and 3.8's. True?

Dave at TEP woudl be the best to ask about the. The only difference I could see in TC is the stall.

If the gears are differnt, swap diff. tc...likely isn't enough to matter
