Transaxle Range Switch

Hey Everybody, I'm in the process of repairing my AVIC F700BT and I'm having trouble locating the Transaxle Range Switch so that I can plug the Brake wire into it so the on screen keyboard unlocks when the car is in park. Can anybody post an image of the switch or what wire color I should look for. My Haynes manual doesn't have any information.

I'm looking at the removed wiring harness and seeing a Green wire attatched to the parking brake cable and a green with purple stripe on the Reverse cable. Where should I look under the dash for these cables?

IIRC that's a Pioneer number. The newest Pioneers want you to stop, park, apply the ebrake. If you are parked, with the ebrake on when you turn the car on, you have to remove the brake and reapply. The head unit has a circuit built in that detects the ground as it's turned on and dismisses it as a bypass to the system.

I'm unclear why you want the PNP switch though, the brake doesn't go through it to my knowledge.

isnt it just a ground anyway? or is it asking for a sequence of events? i would just put a toggle in or buy the little converter box.

It wants to see the ground applied after it's turned on.

For example, to get around this on my HU and have the ability to watch w/o setting the ebrake as I never set it... I did a relay that triggers off the remote amp turn on wire from the HU. That little time between the HU coming on and giving the amp the signal is perfect.
