• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

trans swap

i ran it so hot the car shut off 4 times. so even if its not the head gasket i imagine i damaged something else. lol

it just gave me an excuse to buy a gtp. went from a base 3800 se to a fully loaded gtp so i guess it all worked out in the end.

LOL.. ps...I've stalled them due to overheating. Still didn't hurt anything. The 3800 can be an amazing motor. That aside..I'm not a guy to stand in the way of a dude wanting to upgrade and have more fun. Party on Garth

The 4T65E diff was different in 1997 than 98+. The difference is that in 97 the output shaft did not have a compression clip to hold the diff to it. It had a circlip. This circlip has to be removed to get the diff off the output shaft and I think maybe the output shaft splines are slightly different as well.

yeah the 3800 is why i got into these cars, i have owned a lot of different cars but nothing has ever taken the abuse that these engines have. i swear if my engine could talk it would say " is that all you got? " lol
