Trans Slipping

I have a question for y'all. I have a 2000 GP SE with the 3.1 and for the past like 20k miles the trans has been slipping and leaks about a quart of fluid per 1,500-2,000 miles. I just keep it full and generally don't beat on it and it's still going. Will be turning 180k on the car on the original engine/trans within a week or two and I wanted to hear opinions on about how much longer I can keep this going till the trans finally locks up or whatever and needs replaced.

Where is it leaking from? Why don't you be proactive and fix the leak so you don't end up drying up the trans and having to replace it?

The leak is coming from the main seal? Where the transmission connects to the block of the engine. I tried using the trans fluid with stopleak a few times and it will help for a while and it slowed the leak but it's still there. Not sure the current rate of the leak as it has slowed but now after the stopleak id say it's closer to 1qt every 4k or so.

not sure how much of a pain it is to replace the main seal but i would say replace it and use lucas on it i had a severe slipping issue in mine and did a fluid change and used lucas and all is well for now no slips but it is taking longer to shift between gears than i think it should. see if that helps. I do plan in the future whether it goes or not to swap out the tranny with a new one including the torque converter just to eliminate any issues.
