Trans cooler flush?

So right now my regal has a ZZP shift kit in it and id like to replace it with a transgo kit that i bought a while ago. I was thinking about unhooking the trans cooler lines and flushing that out since im replacing the fluid anyway. I think that not flushing the trans cooler killed my last trans faster than the heavy 18" rims did.

If you really think that not flushing the cooler killed your last transmission, then your best bet would be to just replace the cooler itself.

if you blew up that tranny, replaced it, but failed to blow the cooler and lines out, yes, that had something to do with its early death.

in this case your just dropping the pan. no need to flush the lines. its a working trans still.

That was on my grand prix. The regal has 291K on the body but around 30-45K on the engine/trans. I wanted to flush the cooler because of the age. I think my problem might be the SD headers though. I noticed that with my slp headers the IAT was always around 10-15* more than the outside air temp. With the SDs its around 30-40* more. I did have a bit of a temp scare when i drove to west dundee Illinois. The trans temp on the highway was around 210* towards the finish of my journey.

Update: I did the fluid exchange and added the transgo kit and it shifts like it should. no more hard, quick shifts at less than 1/4 throttle.
