What should a stock rebuild cost on a 99 GTP? Tell me what you payed. I am just trying to get an idea. I might try to save some money by having them do the bench work and I remove and replace. I hate front wheel drive trannies though. I live north of Dallas Texas and I was curious if anyone has any reccomendations or places to stay away from?
 


I'd say around 800-900 for an average rebuild. It's just a guess though
 
A local shop told me $1600 for a stock rebuild but thats with them doing everything, I would just drop the car off and pick it up. I am saving some cash for a triple edge tranny. If you are going to remove and install I would think it would cost roughly the same (depending on optons added) for one of trannymans units and I have never heard a bad word about him or his work.
 
Around here a stock 4T65E rebuild runs $1200-$1600 plus install and seems to be on the average for a stock rebuild. In Chicago I have heard $2600 plus install. It will vary throughout the country. These are local transmission shop prices and not dealer or Jasper install centers. There is a guy in Texas selling a trans that I built for him brand new on the pallet for $1100 IIRC. He didnt get the opportunity to install it in his car with his planned mods so he is selling off stuff and trading his car for something else.
