Banned - Busted For Scamming
Ok, so i need help, last night on my way home from school, 12am, i got in my car and started it, put it in drive ,all good. I then went to talk to someone, put it in neutral and it wanted to move forward still. Didnt think anything of it, put it in drive and left. Then it would skip around on the shifts, and i noticed a humming/growling sound proportional with road speed, not engine speed. Kept driving and the skip shifting went away, but not the noise. Me and my brother rebuilt the tranny 30k ago and everything has been great since then. It has a zzp shift kit in it, and i read on trannymans website that it might be the differential and rear planet gear going bad. Any suggestions?
 


it exploded last night, what i had thought too, final drive sun gear/ pinions and ring gear are chewed to hell. Oh well new tranny time :(
 
sorry to hear about that man. I thought I was gonna have to rebuild my trans a couple days ago. There was a short in the wiring harness at the PCM and it was causing all kinds of problems, including transmission slippage and failing to downshift out of overdrive. If you dont want to mess with rebuilding it then you could check out the morad parts company that operates out of Cleveland. They have entire engines for sale as well as alot of other things thay you might need. Just Google them and go to their ebay store.

not tryin to jack the thread,but did u have any codes in PCM from the wire being shorted?
 


no codes. The tranny was rebuilt 30k ago by me and my brother, all parts were inspected and good when installed. I have 400 in parts in this tranny, so yes i will just be going to the yard and pulling a final drive assembly out, taking the tranny apart, cleaning it again and puttin it back together, not too bad i just dont wanna remove the damn thing lol
