Tranny lines for trans cooler

I believe its the top line but wait for the more experienced people to confirm.

I'm looking to install a cooler this weekend myself and have been doing some research.

Sorry not trying to hijack the thread but I have a question for people running a cooler, did you bypass the radiator all together or add it after or before?

Thanks

The fitting on the transmission that points straight down towards the ground is the feed fitting that sends fluid to the radiator transmission cooler, which should be going to the bottom fitting on the radiator.

The fitting on the transmission case that is parallel with the lower pan and points straight forward is the return fitting from the radiator and should be connected to the line going to the top fitting on the radiator.

I typically will bypass the radiator cooler altogether, especially in higher powered applications unless airflow across the front is poor. If you are plumbing a trans cooler in line with the factor radiator cooler then you need to put it in the line that is the return fitting which again is the one on the trans that points straight forward.
