• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Tranny finally broke, what else to do while replacing?

The trans on my 97 gtp lost the forward band this week at a little over 204k miles. Was still able to limp around in 2nd and get to the tranny shop and back home. Tried to be upset but at 204k miles, how can I be?
Talked to the guys at TEP. Went over my mods and have a hps1 in the works. It will be nice to know that I have a tranny that I don't have to baby anymore. Not that I'm gonna be racing around, but just piece of mind.
I have new poly lower motor and trans mounts on the way from ZZP. I know that the tranny seal and main engine seal, which started dripping 4-5k ago, should be done since everything is going to be apart.

My question for the board is, what else to do while pulling the old tranny and putting in the new one?

Is anyone in the torrance ca, area interested in my old tranny? Should i craigslist it or put it on the board or both?

I have a 97 gtp, with slp intake and hood, tog headers with better flowing resonator and ubend delete, zzp larger radiator, zzp intercooler, 3.4 pulley, zzp upper motor and dogbone poly mounts, prj fuel rails and plug wires, custom tune on the pcm, rat suspension kit, bear brake kit front/rear and many other things but not things that would matter to a tranny swap.
I just did new ac delco lca's with the moog problem solver bearings and moog endlinks.

I have a month before the trans is here so I am trying to make sure and do the things that should be done when the drive train is apart.

I could send the tranny back for the core charge, but its $200 shipping to get a $300 core charge back. $100 isn't anything to sneeze at, but if i could sell it locally for 1-200 that would be great.

Do the rear Main seal, maybe the knock sensor since its easy access. If you have the cradle dropped, new subframe bushings and oil pan gasket if needed.

Thanks guys, this is the kind of info I need.
is this the subframe bushing stuff?

yes # 5 and 3. two of each. search the part numbers on ebay you may find them cheaper. I bought the comp G rear bushings off of ebay
you probably will not need the washers and bolts. those you should be able to re-use. rock auto has the front kit by Dorman.
