Ok being realistic what would you guys trade your GP in for. Trade has to be car for car nothing else. I know our cars aren't worth a whole lot but bascially for what they are worth is there a better platform to play with?
 


1st of all, i have a 2004 monte carlo ss N/A with black heated leather interior
kelly blue book price (in the excellent condition it is) : $8,500

realistically, i would trade it in for either a 2000+ ford or dodge truck, probably diesel...or i would go for a f body such as the 2001 camaro ss t top that is for sale around me...

unrealistically, i would trade it for a 2005+ bmw, probably a 2 door with a decent engine
either that, or id go pontiac with a pimping GTO...i would actually probably go with the GTO over the bmw

just my take haha...wouldnt mind having a truck, but i love my car and it still gets around very good
 
i'm not planning to trade this car in until it dies, and even then, i'll probably just build an engine/trans and keep it as long as i can. i love this car, and no one is gonna take it from me.

better platform? depends. w-bodies are easy to work on and go thru **** like no other. i say keep it till it falls apart, if anything it can always be ur daily.

that said id trade my gt for a boosted w-body, being it an impala ss or a regal gs :D
 


I dunno. I say i'm never going to sell it. But I sure would like a new ride with 0 problems ATM.

I've had my eyes on the 6.0L GTO's for awhile now. I'd most likely trade for one of those.

What I really need though is a truck. :(
 
After this tranny ordeal, I've pretty well decided I'll drive the wheels off my car.

It drives in the snow, it gets close to 30 mpg highway, and it has the power of a V8. No other car I'd want can do that for under 6k. A German car is the only other car I could think of owning right now...and parts would be ridiculous.
 
I'd most likely end up trading mine in for a Honda Civic. No more mods, no more work, just good gas mileage. Our hobby is getting expensive without a price increase on parts.
 


Id have to think about what id wanna trade mine in for. Owned a 93 that i sold to a scrap yard for $50 still running and road worthy, only because I didnt want anyone else to drive it. Pretty sure that I have a 05 this will be with me until its unable to carry on. However with that being said I would love a G8 GXP but with the trade car for car thats not going to happen. The vehicle trade for trade I would take would have to be a maxima possibly a acura tl. Yah I know all those cars are worth more id settle for a bit older though.
 
I am slightly polarized about this topic.

If a 2003 GTP in good condn with my mods is worth about $6000, I can't really think of a $6000 car I would sooner have for a DD.

On the other hand.....after every time I work on the car I swear its the last time I fix something that was unbroke. So times like those, the most economical to operate $6000 car would be a consideration.
 


I am currently happy with this GTP, it definitely beat the 1995 Camry that I had.

No powa whatsoever, never going back to 4 cylinders ever again >:(

...You know, unless it came turbo'd or something :D
