I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP the traction control off light is on and wont turn traction control on. I went and check all the sensor on the wheel hubs and all worked. Is there something like a relay or bad wiring through the wiring? Also the abs light is off.
 


i check the hub the there is another pulg inside the engine bay i checked there 2 and was still ok. Both side were fine
 


Yeah it comes up with 4 in one code different thing first is VSS and the other thing is the fan 2 relay. Is the vss the same thing as the traction control sensor?
 
I dont know at the moment can post tomorrow but would the VSS make the traction control not work but the abs still work? Also the speedometer still works
 


my traction control use to not work on my 04 gp, it was always on, i changed the trac switch and it worked fine, if it was the wheel hub bearings then the abs light would come on at the same time because i had the change mine out too
 
ive been having the same issues. I have checked the hubs and wiring. I've scanned for codes and I get nothing. My ABS is off and workin fine. I am going to replace my dic (mainly cause the lights are burnt out) and see if it is just a fault DIC unit. Other than that I have no clue what could be causing it. I will let you all know what if it goes away when i replace the unit.
