No, FE3 is a sportier suspension code. FE1 being the soft suspension.

NV7 is the magnasteer code.

my car is FE3, and is magna steer, that's what i was told to look for, the FE3 code. and from what ive read all gt based w bodys have the sport suspension.

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector.
Measure the resistance across the wheel speed sensor.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?
800-1,600 ohms

Spin the wheel.
Measure the AC voltage across the wheel speed sensor.

Does the AC voltage measure greater than the specified value?
100 mV

If yes to both, could be connection related.

Since this is intermittent, it sounds like a connection issue.

i did this. the wires started smoking and shrinking and everything. and the solder just rolled right off. i got like one little tiny blob of solder to stick. im like greaaaaat.

granted, this solder come in the pack of the "cold heat" thing so who knows if it's good solder.

are your wires nice and clean and shinny? if not strip them back till you get to untarnished wire, brown wire wont hold solder well if at all.

well, when i figure out how to "measure the resistance" and use a multimeter, i'll do just this.

are your wires nice and clean and shinny? if not strip them back till you get to untarnished wire, brown wire wont hold solder well if at all.

no, not at all. they're pretty brown. and im scared to keep stripping back further, it doesn't seem to change any..

Buy Dorman - OE Solutions ABS Sensor Harness 970-042 at Advance Auto Parts THIS seems ideal, but how you wire it into the main harness, yeah that disqualifies me.

no, not at all. they're pretty brown. and im scared to keep stripping back further, it doesn't seem to change any..

that's why you cant solder them, its not you, its the wires. when i did my maf i had to cut back 3 to 4 inches till i got to good wire, just few inches from the main harness. you may need to add a new piece of wire so they still reach properly.

so those wire clips you have ordered will not work right either, because of the dry wire, thats what brown wire is called when air has oxidized them, "dry wire" current cant flow thought it properly.

the connectors haven't gotten here yet. we will see when they get here. if not i may have to go to plan B and install that brand new harness cus it seems to me the whole harness is brown and what not.

and abs works off current CHANGES anyway, correct? which would explain why the sh*t ain't working right lol.

i just checked my trunk RPO sticker, all i have is FE3, no nv7 code at all. im pretty sure if you have the FE3 code magna steer is implied. sport suspensions and steering. like i said that's what the junk yard asked me to look for, so i would get the right part for my car.

if you have the nv7 code you have magna steer but no sport suspension and may even show the fe1 code for soft suspension.

well regardless what the these damn stickers say, my power steering is capable of SOMETHING when the abs light is off. that's what matters. and getting the light to permanently stay off is the goal.

and i bought a soldering gun and some electric solder with rosin core in it. so if my little connector things fail, im gone start chopping wires and get to soldering.
