• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

TRAC Off

SNOW

for me atleast, i turn traction control off everytime we get snow up here. It just makes the driving worse. Like when I am trying to move from a stop sign or stoplight in the snow, both wheels will start to spin and the TCS system is all like "OH FVCK, WE BE SPINING", so it cuts power to both wheels and makes it so i cant go anywhere.

with it off, i can just hit the gas then lift off, then hit the gas and lift off and i move just fine.

yeah cus at the same time as long as you can drive with it on in the snow, then it could be helpful because if you start to spin it might detect it before you feel it.

i dont just floor it if thats what your thinking.

simply saying that the TCS systems blows in the snow, because once you start to spin it go's crazy and stops me from moving.

so i just gas and lift and gas and lift and i move great.

my friend had a MINI and when his TCS would come on, it would make a clicking noise it was neat.
do the GPs do that? what does it feel like when it kicks in?

and what does the Low Trac mean?

LOW TRAC, the light will come on when the TC is active and the wheel are slipping and car trys to correct it, by reducing power to the wheel/wheels that are spining.

I agree with you 100%
I feel the same way about ABS but I can't fix that without removing a fuse or something lol

The system can react faster than you and sometimes when you would not have noticed until its too late. At highway speeds and hitting black ice or in freezing rain. It works well even though it can be annoying.

Other times it needs to be turned off. There are situations you just need to force your way out of. Un plowed parking lots and getting up hills are 2 I deal with all the time. Or the stop sign thing mentioned above.

ABS yeah..... but our ABS sucks. The car still wanders and the wheels lock up for too long.

As for traction control... mine takes up to a full second to respond.

I've already fixed the problem before my traction control has attempted to do anything.

Proper TCS would have a throttle plate in front of the TB to override what your right foot is doing.

That or DBW.

Then it can respond instantly.
