Totalled the GTP

Yep, I totalled my GTP this past wednesday. A lady in a buick regal decided to stop in a construction zone on a busy highway. The car right behind her crashed into her & I hit that second car. Smashed my front end pretty good. Radiator fan is smashed into the headers..smashed There wasn't enough time to stop & traffic was congested due to the construction zone we were in to change lanes. The police evaluated the scene & were a great help. The officer on scene handed me the insurance info of the second car and told me he was the driver at fault. Idk why, but I'm greatful I'm not at fault. I called that insurance company & filed my claim & without having looked at the police report they put me at fault & told me to be prepared to pay for the damaged to both my vehicle & the second vehicle. @-holes. That insurance company ended up having to pay for everything. They have yet to tell me if my car has been totalled out or not, but they estimated the damages to my front end at $6,200...it's old so it'll most likely be totalled.

I'll post pics when I go look at the car. Hopefully I can take back some of my parts & sell em so I can have downpayment money. Wasted a good GTP :th_shakinghead2:

i was in the same situation.. that sucks sorry about the gtp but i had my insurance fight back and get statements from the first driver to confirm that they felt two impacts which proves i didnt cause all the damage.. it worked out.. if it's not a closed case that may be something worth looking into

sorry to hear, as long that no one is injured thats the most important,
i was caught in the same situation, the lady hit my car infront of my house and she was totaled...

I'm sure some local GP dudes will find the car in a salvage yard & make good use of it. I doubt I will...

I'm considering buying it back. As for the hood, the carbon fiber is cracked and missing chunks of clear coat. T he fiberglass layer underneath is missing a large chunk of fiberglass that holds the latch. I can go look at the car tomorrow and take pics if insurance dosent move it before I get there.....wait..i just bought it back for $350 :)

still fixable, lemme know if you want to sell it. :th_thumbsup-wink:
my car is also black. So i may need some stuff if you dont transfer to a new car.

your wheels survive? if so and you do part it out I might be interested. lol only reason i said you should buy it back and part it out.

Man, I am sorry to hear about loosing the GTP. That sucks. I am glad to hear you are OK though. This could happen to anyone of us too. Good luck with getting your cobalt SS.

If you will be buying it back will you be keeping it or parting it out?

Will you be keeping the blower?
If not ,what would you need to get for it.
Mine sounds like it is going... so just looking out for a bargain?
