Total NOOB mistake! (Heads)

I'm looking at the heads myself and see no cracks at all. There were no leaks before so I honestly think this guy was trying to just gouge me...

Do you recommend any good tuners in NJ, by the way?

Maybe he magnafluxed them for cracks but most all used 3800 heads will have very small cracks.

He said to magnaflux them it would cost me $150 per head... I told him where to go and how to get there...

There is a hardened valve seat in our heads BTW. If you look closely at the head, you can see them.

Damn that's expensive, I'd call around to a few different places and see what they charge for it. I got them magnafluxed, quick valve job, and painted for $200 total. I didn't have anything else done to them though. My ported heads I brought to someone else, had them fluxed, need new guides since the bronze ones basically fell apart in his hand, and had them decked and that was about $500, including the new guides and seals, they were already ported.

I haven't had any personal experience with them but they do have experience with our platform.
