All who've successfully top swapped the L26 and ran with the higher compression...Having g problems with pre det and knock all the time? I'm >< that close to throwing it together...

with the right tune and other parts in the motor...you should be fine. tons of people have done it.

What I want to know is...

A little info...

For those that have top swapped L26's, has anyone used a GenIII blower? I know the obvious and easy choice would be the Fiver...but this top swap is basically gonna cost shipping...guessing custom 4 to 3 bolt adapter plate to make it work?

Well I have another post up with my list somewhere lol. But

stock block
Gen v with 4.0 and 3.4 pulleys
42.5 inj
1.8 rockers
Intense pushrods
105 springs
HP tuners
LQ4. Maf

And most of the obvious little stuff...

I run a GenIII on an L26 block

You would never be able to run a 3.4 withou a cam or intercooler.

Upgraded injectors are not needed for quite awhile.. 3.2 pulley or better.

1.8 rockers are no better than stock rockers.

Pushrods are pointless.

The stock 04 maf works fine.

Done it in reverse a few times with the turbo stuff running a L26.. the adapter is pretty easy, but I would probably plan on porting the gen3 inlet to match the bigger TB.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but could you drill and tap your own mounting holes? No adapter necessary if you can do it that way.
