• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Top Swap Section

I was thinking maybe we could make a section for people looking for info on doing Top Swap's. I remember on clubgp i had so much trouble finding the info i wanted using just the search function. That way people could get the information they wanted without clogging up the other parts of the forum.

I dont know about an entire section dedicated to it, as I dont see that many people do this, say compared to swapping out rockers or pullies or something of that nature. That said, I do have a how to on my hard drive on doing a top swap that will be posted in the How-To section or page when we get done doing that. Hopefully in the next few days or some time next week at the latest I imagine.

Now, with all that in mind, anything in particular that you are looking for? Is there particular information you had a hard time finding? It may well turn out that we make a section for that, but there would have to be good demand for it. Im not saying it wont happen, Im just saying that there would have to be a fair amount of interest in it and most definitely some people contributing good write ups, parts and other information to make it worth while.

Are you 3800SE from clubgp? Cause i used your top-swap write-up and it was perfect to the T. Its actually sitting on my desk. But i do agree. I guess that doing an entire section would be a bit too much. I just want to make sure the information is easy to get to for the people that do want to do it. I think i waited and entire year to do my top-swap because i had a lot of trouble finding it on clubGP. I saw the write up for it but it wasnt in the how to sections and everytime i searched for it, if i didnt type the title word for word it would find it.

No, but I believe it is his write up that I have in document form saved on my drive. In fact, I kinda wish he would come over here, he's pretty good with thing mechanical and knowledgeable.

Im with you on that one scotty....we need to get the topics we have up and going so if something like a top end swap falls under a topic, lets use it....as we grow we can always branch out and split the topics and move posts for easier review.

I've got a engine pull/top swap coming up in the next month for a local club member. I'll be sure to document everything needed to do it, just for future reference.
