So I finally got around to top swapping my gp, but I couldn't get it to run with a stock supercharged tune. Not sure if that's normal. Turns out a stock na tune actually runs, but I imagine this will cause issues if I try to limp it to my tuner, plus with no bypass valve in the tune, I have no idea how that will work...

I know there was a repo of this on hp tuners a few years ago, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I'm hoping someone might have a resource, or at least advice on how to get it safely to the shop without needing a tow.

Thanks in advance!

I do have hp tuners, but I can't weld so the wideband is going to be added at the shop. The shop is about 10 miles away.

I think the running issue is due to the 2 bar map in the L67 vs 1 bar in l36. I've seen this alot lately on top swaps.

For safely getting to the tuner, I think you have 2 options.

1. remove the supercharger belt
2. take the L67 timing table and load it into the L36 PCM and then take out 3-5 degrees everywhere.

And don't go WOT on the drive.

Good to know! Strangely I already have the 2 bar map sensor, installed. I still need to install the bypass valve wiring though.

And good idea. I'm no tuner, but I'm pretty sure even I can do those modifications. Strange how it runs on L36 tune though... my guess is compression.

what you got a dead key? no crank no nothing? if so you need a security learn, key to run for 10 minutes, off and back on with in 5 seconds, do that 3 times.

Sorry for any confusion Scotty. The car runs, but not well, and I don't dare risk driving it 10 miles on the wrong tune.

I'm thinking of taking Bake's advice on the tuning.

My big concern is I'm assuming the bypass valve won't work with the modified L36 tune even if I add the wiring.

What's the implication of this not working?

Once I get to the tuner they start with the supercharged tune right? Anything I should mention? I'm assuming they'll have no problem tuning it though?

just tell em what you got going on.

you got the na trans part of the tune and gear change set up in the l67 tune yet? if not dont drive it on the l67 tune.
