Does anyone know what the tool is called or the part number for the removal tool for the ls4's are? I've been searching for several days and have found pics and diagrams of if but no name or where one is sold

thanks for all the input. now i just have to check and see if this will work with my car and if i will have room to get my hands in there to work the new belt into place. its a super tight fit. im pretty sure that tool will fit over the tensioner or what ever the ls4 has to release pressure off of the belt

Don't waste your time remember our tensioner is to the left of our balancer one member on gmls4 used two 3or 4 inch hose clamps around it to get it off

What exactly u saying...don't attempt it? I mean if a mechanic just uses that tool then it can't be to to hard. And I know where the tensioner is I've already investigated it

hey 91parkave im gonna have to try the hose clap options. i bought one of the tools they listed above to use on it today and i would like to announce proudly that none of them will work. After further investigation i figured out why tool gm designed for use with the belt is the way it is. so without that stupid expensive special tool you have to get creative

Yea Ive got that page book marked. But u can't use just any serpentine tool cause the pulley next to it gets in the way. So I guess I'll take passenger side tire off and work thru the wheel well at it. How did that other person use clamps on it?

O OK that makes sense. I have a ton of screw down clamps from jobs on cars so I'll just do it that way. Seems cheaper to...free. That pic u posted was to small for me to see.
