• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

took the bird to the track

went out to kil-kare for test and tune thursday night. i got there a little late so i didn't get as many runs in as i hoped, and it was also Night of Fire, so they had a bunch of jet-powered cars out there and we lost track time lol. it was over 90* out, after a 45 minute drive in rush hour traffic, and another 20 minutes before my first fun. needless to say, the car was HOT. i spun pretty bad out of the hole and ended up with a 14.93 with a 2.29 60'. each run got better, and before intermission i knocked it down to a 14.69 at 97. the car sat for about 45 minutes and air temp dropped into the 70s, and i ran a 14.51 and a 14.45 afterwards. i thought i did pretty well, taking a stock car to it's factory times when it's 15 years old on dry-rotted street tires. the 14.51 was against a GTP. i talked to the driver afterwards and he said he was running a 3.5" pulley with no supporting mods. i told him to get headers and he responded with "i have timeslips with it running mid-13's, and plus i have the sub in the back. i'm just really proud of this transmission, it lasts forever".

I'm proud of my transmission. It had everything to do with supporting mods.

I'm sure with a little cooler of a nite with some non-dry rotted tires I bet you could have cut it close to a very high 13 or a bottom dolla 14.

Needz vidz Phillllip :D

i think the best part was the kid with mommy and daddy's rsx type s... we thought we were going together for my first run and he goes "good, i've been wanting to run one of those." granted he woulda taken me, 14.7 to 14.9, but it gets better. his third run he broke his cv axle. i was acting sympathietic so i could hit on his girlfriend, but they way he was talking... i bit my tongue so hard it bled lol. he had an intake, header, and exhaust, and it's "tuned" for his mods, and he would be mid 13's if he had better tires. "you'll never see another type s run like this one, i have it tuned so well, it's a beast". all the while his girl is pissed because she was supposed to be home, and the guy keeps saying he's gonna punch her dad in the mouth and what-not. all it woulda taken was a "hey, you're on my way home, i could take you there in my firebird. it's a nice night, we could even take the t-tops off." too bad i'm a nice guy

update:
went again tonight, also terrible conditions for runs. upper 80's and pretty humid. started off with high 14's. there were 3 mustangs to any other car tonight, and only 4 or 5 imports out of 60 cars or so. my first run was against a 5-speed 4.6 with a CAI, he ran a 14.2 to my 14.7. it was close off the line but he pulled on me once he got into 3rd. the car was feeling sluggish in the mid-range, so i got impatient and popped the airbox off the car... it was less than half the size of the one on the GP. My LT1 is breathing through a straw. there was a long down time in between a couple of my runs, and my temps dropped back to 180-190ish, and i lined up against the same mustang. i got a great launch, .528 reaction time and a 2.14 60 ft. took him by .01 seconds, 14.26 to 14.27. flow mods would drastically help that car.

but on the way home, one of those damn crown vics with the lights and sirens mod got me. i was trying to follow my friend to his house, and he was weaving in and out of traffic... i lost him until this long, straight, wide open stretch of highway i travel on everyday. i saw his taillights and tried to catch him. the cop said he paced me at over 120mph. i was probably only over 100 for a few seconds and rolling out of it, but never the less i have a court date in two weeks. dammit, i don't even have plates on the firebird yet and it's about to cost me my license

tl;dr: new personal best of a 14.26 at 97.8, and a speeding ticket for 120+ on the way home

Learn from your mistakes my friend. Just tell the truth in court, im sure you could get away with your lisence. But good luck to you sir!

i'm hoping i can, i have no other moving violations, and work full time third shift. soon to be working two jobs while being a full time student. i'll be working as a mechanic in a gm dealership, points don't look good but a suspension looks worse. good thing i already found my sponsoring dealership

ouch, i would be calling one of those company's they garuntee the case will be dropped or your mney back. so you pay them $400 maybe more but you get to keep your licence and prob wont even be on your record. my brother did this twice, works well lol. but if your case is doomed they wont accept it.
