So about a month ago I changed the oil and I was in hurry so I just dumped all 5 quarts in but forgot to check the dip stick. checked it today and saw that its an inch above the cross hatch. Should I drain some or am I good? its been about month and everything is good

Too much oil can blow your seals. You won't see problems until you get leaking.

Personally, I doubt I would bother for 1/2 a quart too much.
 
Yeah I think it was fine. I only had to take out a little over half a quart to get it to the cross hatch area

So too much oil can blow seales..??? This past winter i let a shop do a change(favor a buddy owed me). Like 2 days later im driving outa town.. My oil light comes on..?!?? So i get to where im goin and look at the dip stick, says it was full. Well over the line. Light would come a few more times that week and i havent seen it on since..??

Generaly when a light like that comes on, you should pull over and check it right away... at least once a year we get a car in that someone didn't take heed of a warning light... we're always happy to replace the motor for em though...
