Too much boost?

I've got a 2000 GTP with an L26 block, NIC cam, 105# ZZP springs, Open Cone, Street tuned (a little on the rich side), AL 103s, 3.5" MPS, SD headers, ZZP flex, Magnaflow high flow cat, Res Delete, and leads into stock mufflers in the back. I get right around 8psi, at the max 9, and I was told by somebody (not to mention names) that 8-9psi is too much on a setup like mine and that i might have flowing issues in the motor. I also had an open cutout right before the cat, but it broke so I just put a block off plate on the flange. I took the plate off and ran the car on a dump basically to see if the problem was the exhaust. After letting the car warm up and doing a few pulls I saw that boost dropped down to 7psi at the most. I also have an aeroforce and see no knock all the way through 2nd gear. (Highest I've ever seen, which was once, was .3* of knock) I just wanted to get some other peoples insight on the possibility of a problem somewhere, not saying that the person who told me was wrong, just curious as to some other things I could possibly try? Thanks for anybody with advice!

More boost plz.

Seems to take more than just a cam to kill an L26.

Just keep an eye on your fueling. Perhaps consider open loop to prevent the PCM from trying to lean things out.

lol so far the block is doing good =P fueling isn't too bad, just a little rich at WOT, what do you mean by open loop?

I have heard that the L26/L32 motors don't like being heated up (lean) due to the ring gapping. Apparently it's much tigher than the older motors and that can cause a chipped piston very easily. Boost would also help heat the cylinder.

tuning via wideband instead of narrowband/fuel trims method.... basically cuts out your narrowband from trying to trim your fueling.

Ahh, simple enough lol yea one of my next steps is a wide band gauge, and then get re-tuned from there.

hmm, i'll have to look into a bit more then, just not sure if theres something serious I should be worrying about, the car seems to run perfectly fine.
