Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Too cold out side

Getting out of the shower really sucks but the house is like 125+ years old and kinda drafty so Im trying to keep it cheap by not having the heat turned up. I bought a heated blanket so I could at least be warm when I sleep. haha. My dad complains about it all the time when he comes to visit but Im usually at the college for like 12hrs 3 days of the week anyway.

I understand. Heating is expensive. I have redone all of the insulation in my house and I put in heated floors. It's a really sweet system. Hot water runs under the floor in small tubes and the heat radiates up. I had to dig up the old basement floor lay the tubes and then pour the concrete back. I did the same in the garage.

To do the upstairs, I just put up all the tubes in the rafters before I did the drywall.

It's nice not having to step on stone cold marble in the kitchen first thing in the morning.

man...

I dont think I could do 55 in the house... even in michigan we kept it at 70. in the summer down here we keep it at 75 because at 70 when its a 110 outside the AC never shuts off, and my electric bill is over 400 dollars for 8 months of the year. atleast at 75 the ac will shut of now and again for 10 minutes or so. but my bill is still always over 350 bucks in the summer time. and my house is only 7 years old. and I dont air condition my garage like I would like to (cant afford the electric bill as it is)...

in the winter the house is a nice 70 during the day and 65 at night. which is how it would be in the midwest if and when we were to move back.

nice! thats what i would like to do when I move back up there. our neighbor when we lived up there had that, and had a boiler room area that heated the water. (it was a wood burning deal) he put whole logs in at a time (8 footers). he said that a big 8 foot log would burn for a good 24 hours or so... (if I remember right)...

he didnt have a heating bill. oh, and we lived up in northern michigan (near gaylord) out in the woods. on 40 acres that back up to state land on one of the corners.

Nice, I know where gaylord is.Not having a heating bill would rock. I just use a gas heater. It's pretty efficient. My heating bill is cheaper than it used to be.

I use to be up in the UP, and I don't want none of that anymore. I have 400 acres that get snowed in every winter. Up there they get like 120 inches of snow. Last year in Detroit I got like 10 for the whole season. I can live with that.

It would be nice to burn wood to get heat or Id be happy if I had just a fireplace in the house that I could start up when I got home and use that to warm it up a little. At least theres a wood stove in the garage I can use for heat if I need to work on the car. Although theres not much for room to work. lol

If it stays like this you may need to convert your snowmobile just so you can use it. If you go fast enough and keep the front up apparently you can go across open water. Please get vids if you attempt this.

I've seen them converted to mudding snowmobiles but never water glider thingys

Do it Matt.

A buddy of mine and his bro were skipping water to get to a chunk of ice in the middle of the lake and one of the runs his brother made it but then his snowmobile quit on the ice chunk so he had to use a rowboat to get him and the snowmobile. Still don't know how they did it without tipping the boat. lol
