to sell or not to sell?

Im going to try to sell mine see what happens. Gtp in az are going for 6k and under private owner. Good luck! I wish i knew the problem but the only thing my car does is flash check engine only on highway speeds. Took it to a shop and mechanic recommended trany fluid replacement but no a answer to the problem itself and still charged me diagnostic! In the year i had it i already replaced valve and intake gaskets, plugs, tune up etc. idk what else to do and its too much money! I just want a new mustang v6 now. Hate spending time and money at the mechanic

yea man i agree with you and thanks!, i never had the check engine light come on tho or any lights for that matter, untill my breaks start locking alot then the ABS light and TC light will go on, if i had money id be able to fix things, but fact of the matter is i dont, my job is part time and doesnt pay the best, which is y im contemplating selling it and buying another car (with a new loan), but idk, tough decision here haha

And if sumthing goes wrong on the "new car" what are you going to do.. That's right fix it! Fact of matter is crap breaks car parts don't last forever.

yea i know things break but i doubt the new car will have that many problems i listed lol but the way its lookin now i will prolly be keeping it and chipping away at things i guess

Wishful thinking. Fact of the matter you really never know. It's a chance you take that's why emergency funds should be mandatory. Price out parts for a Wbody then price out parts for whatever car you plan on getting for $7k... Yea Wbody parts are about the cheapest u can find. if you want sumthing different then go for it but please don't try to justify that purchase with the minor issues your having.. Do some research or ask for some suggestions on here I'm sure you can fix a few of things yourself for cheap and don't say you don't have the tools HF sells tools cheap and you should have a toolbox available at any given time.

New cars have so many electronic stuffs that could go wrong imo. Unless your getting something with a warranty.

Warranties don't cover everything either and unless your really going to spend a lot more then $7k chances are you won't have much left out of the warranty

Oh your welcome its totally understandable i know where your coming from thats why theres always two options. But yeah mine only when pushing really heavy it flashes and goes away And runs fine if not flooring it. When i first bough the car it ran better. I dint mistreat it or anything but these hd transmissions shifted when getting to yellow when wanting to speed on freeway not it slugs.Ima check it out tho again with another mechanic and if rebuild is needed i kind of want to fix and make it look nicer! But it will need control arms etc. so idk!!!

Control arms are like $100 if that. You gotta learn to work on your own car... This cars are rather simple and really don't require much but a basic socket set, some wrenches and maybe a breaker bar. Now of course things like the transmission isn't so easy and I leave that one to the experts. It's a 10+ year old platform hell the motors is even older then that. There's a wealth of information for just about any problem you may have as well as several how to's.

yea true, my biggest problem is lack of skill to do certain things myself which is y so much money is used on a mechanic and well all know they suck and rip u a new one but yea thanks for the advice bud and ill try and chip away at things when it gets warmer and when my income tax decides it wants to show up lol
