To rebuild or buy need trans to support 500hp +

Need to know is it cheaper to buy a zzp trans or rebuild my own I need it to withstand an 8000rpm goal hopefully the supercharger can still make boost at that rpm on a 2.8 pulley and not stall out and I'm aiming for 500whp I hope someone can help me with this cuz I'm trying to get the engine put back together for the Detroit meet in June but the car has been a part for two years now so it will b fun trying to remember where things go lol

You wont make even close to 500 whp with a supercharger. And if you need a transmission, tripledgeperformance is the place to go.

good luck with getting over 400 hp on a m90 supercharger setup. and 8k rpm? what makes you want to rev a 3800 to the moon? very very few people spin them past 7000-7200 rpm.

TEP has prices listed on the site and it also explains what transmission mods support what hp level.

8krpm this isn't vtec yo, Save that for the Hondas. Goodluck reaching 500hp with a SC, your better off going turbo at that point and invest in GMR parts.

that^ if your trying to hit 500whp. turbo kit and 1inch chain set and gmr diff will cost over 6500 for those 3 items......
just a heads up it gets expensive fast.

I like the sound of superchargers and I figured 8000rpm because I want to run the NIC cam and I figured the higher the rpms I run the better it will over come the valve overlap I want to shoot for the non intercooled record and I thought it was 450HP on the m90 am I wrong I could b mistaken if I am please let me know plus my Little brother has a 06 gto and I want to beat him and my dad has a 72 corvette that's pretty nasty figured I'd take him as well lol

nic really isnt that good of a cam ask around... also 8k rpm is really high. also alot of the records were set with vendor built cars aka zzp or intense racing cars which means your going to need to throw a whole catalog of parts to catch them especially on a max effort m90 setup.
at the end of the day a turbo setup will destroy those m90 cars and cost less in the long run too.

Well what other cam has the great sound of the NIC cam at idle but makes the most power to run non intercooled

First of all whats your budget? your looking at 5-7 grand for trans to handle those power levels. A turbo kit is going to cost you a couple grand if you buy used. Heads, springs, double roller, turbo cam, fuel pump, maf, injectors, ect. Your looking at 10 grand +

Ported heads I already have the machine shop has my block they had to boar it. 020 going to run 140lb or 160lb Springs if I recall correctly 85lb injectors a aem fuel pump undercut valves ls7 lifters fully balanced assembly double roller timing chain heads still have to b machined for equal seat pressure still need to port lim but I'll get there I know I won't be at my goal any time real soon I still need a gen v blower and lim plus the ls1 throttle body going to start with a 2.8 pulley but I want to go smaller if I can but to be completely realistic I guess 7000 or 7500 would b high enough has anyone built there own trans or know someone who has if I can't reach my power goal maybe Ill have to think about spraying the rest lol

Your going to need nos. With your current listed planned mods your looking at 350 whp

If your serious about using a blower dont bother with a genv. Grab a whipple.

No point putting anything less than a 2.8 pulley on a GenV due to efficiency...also, these Eatons don't really care to be revved very high. You should research where the M90 was designed to operate...because you'll then understand why everyone goes turbo. Just my $.02.

Even on e85 I know e85 I f***en awesome for boosted cars though I'm not quite sure how much it will help

Oh forgot to mention. What are you using for a double roller? Its gonna have to be machined properly or you wont have an engine for long.

That is something I need to know I'm worried that the rotors will start to cavitate thus stalling our the boost do u have any idea where I can find that info

I contacted Eaton directly...expect a couple weeks of wait time, but they will send you all the info you could ever want to know. It may still be floating around online, too. If you really must stay SC, I recommend checking out Snowflake's TVS build.
