Just noticed this today. I dont wanna sand it down and repaint and everything so is there anything I can do besides watch it eat away?? I can put paint touchup over it but thats not fixing anything.

Just take a piece of sand paper and fold it, use a corner of the paper to get in that spot.

It will hardly take any effort to hit metal and clean the super small spot. Put a dab of tuch up paint in it's spot and be on your way.

I've been doing this all along, I just barely scratch the surrounding paint a hair away from where it starts. None have rusted further yet.

After sanding out the scale, I like to soak the remainder in a rust converter a couple times before covering with paint to impede it from coming back.

Use "OSPHO" aka phosphoric acid to stop the rust, it can be found at auto body refinishing supply stores, maybe in auto parts stores.

If it is an isolated spot, touching up can work really well. You may have to repeat once every year or two but I've been doing this since I've owned my car 5 years now and hasn't worsened in most areas. I use a dremel tool to remove paint and rust down to bare metal.

I have another location I've been meaning to post up where I tried using the RUST STOP and it didn't do jack.

Looks pretty good. Make sure there is no rust (obvious I know). I prep with rubbing alcohol and then put the touch up paint on a couple minutes later.

Rust removed! On the way to get touch up paint, I found that my passenge window grinds on the way down. Time for a new regulator or motor. Great

I know I'm late to this party, but a tiny piece of adhesive backed sandpaper around 320 grit, stuck to the end of a pencil's eraser ... works perfect as prep. If the car is black like mine and you have some spray paint, tearing a small hole in a sheet of paper then holding it above the surface (masking, sort of) works well. The paper blocks overspray from the surrounding area and gives the touch-up spot a soft edge that blends in a lot better than brush touch ups.
