You will have more to worry about from the Insurance companies. If a person rear ends you and it is brought to light that you had your tail lights tinted, your insurance company will not cover you, nor will the person's insurance company cover you. Infact they will go after you as being the AT FAULT driver though you were the one who got hit.
That is something you have to seriously consider before tinting your tail lights.
Yea I hate Minnesota's tint laws, looks like one of the worst on the list. Just a stupid law IMHO.
is it possible to buy replacement 35% tinted windows without the film like the factory tint???? the law in Alberta Canada states u cant have any film on the front right and left...there is nothing about how dark they can be or anything like that its for safety reasons they cant break the window and extract u if things go bad.........
By the way, The Illinois law is likely to change in the near future...
IL House Bill 3325 was passed in both The House of Representatives and The Senate of the IL General Assembly and will likely be signed into law by Pat Quinn, Governor.
IL HB 3325 will allow 35% on the front windows if your rears aren't darker than 35%, 50% in front if your rears are between 35% and 30%, and no tint at all in front if your rears are darker than 30%.
I created a Facebook page to educate and alert people concerning this bill: Facebook - IL HB 3325
i just read the bill this week... and the way it read was that if you have any darker than 35% on rear windows, you can only use 50% on the fronts, but if you use 35% all around, you can do everything with it. but no tint on the front windshield, only the 4" strip at the top. doesnt seem to apply to screen materials for rear windows.
