Timeing a double roller setup???????

I remember reading somewhere about timing a double roller setup and that it can be easily screwed up. Since my car has been running kind of crappy ever since I installed all the mods in my sig I was thinking maybe I screwed this up. Can anyone shed some light on this subject?

Well IF you installed it straight up then it is likely to be -2* retarded versus the stock timing set. Seems that the only difference is a little more top end power and a little less low end.

Reptile just posted about his recent double roller issue.

if you lined up the dots, that's "straight up". but because they were designed from an l36 timing set, they are automatically -2* retarded on an l67 setup. not that big of a deal, actually quite good for a powerband up top.

timing it on your own is a seperate story. i want some people to try it out and post up about their experiences. it would be beneficial to know what you can do with what effects.

For the GT's and GTP's just line the dots up, they will both work, and run just fine. Be sure to hand turn the motor over a few times before re installing your valve train to make sure its in perfect time.

If you want to get really into it, use a degree wheel, but you will find that they are still ok lining the dots up.

Like said above, the GTP's run even better with a little mechanical cam retardation on the top end.
