• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Well im finally done with school, graduated today, and get to leave this place and go home(thankgod) and start trying to find a job, you would think that someone who is nissan certified in multiple things, and is bmw/mini certified level 1 and who is only 19 would have no problem finding a job,but you'd be wrong, i cant even get people to call me back. oh well thanksgiving, christmas and jod searching all in the next couple months is going to be fun..i hope

Welcome to reality....ps...it sucks!!!, been out of school for over a year, actually miss going to class, chilling with peeps, not having to worry about "real" world stuff.. ahhhh well, happenes to everyone

I haven't gone to school...yet.

I just happened to get my foot in the door in a decent field and have worked my way up.

btw, I make minimum wage so quit complaining.

Not...igetstehmonies.

thanks everyone, yea its sucks
ive been on my own for almost 2 years, but thats what all schooling, now no more school, so im really just now starting out,
but, heres the silver lining, once i find a job, ill be ahead of everyone from my highschool who went to a 4 year school, and the same year i turn 21, ill also become a BMW master tech..with butt loads of moneyz. so thats something to look forword too

i started my job as a junior in highschool, went to tech college while working when i could at the same job. went from 6.50 to 15.50 in 4 years lol

When I graduated wyo and came home I had job offers thrown at me left and right. Nowadays I might as well not have any schoolin at all and probably be better off. But keep pluggin away and don't be afraid to take a "foot in the door" kind of posistion. Id try my damndest too get in with nissan...they make happy techs from what I know.

im friends with the GM of an nissan/infiniti dealership, who i worked with in highschool, and was gonna stay there, but i went to school for bmw/mini instead
so if i cant get with a bmw/mini place then i got nissan as a back up

I ran into this problem out of Tech School too! I was certified but no one wanted to hire me. They all want 3+ years exp but how does one get that if no one will hire them.

It takes time man but you'll find a job. I've been in your shoes it sucks! Now I have 3-4 years exp in my field and can't find a better paying job to get to save my life. I got close last year. Got down to the last 2 peeps out of 100 and I knew someone there. They decided not to hire either one of us. I would have gotten a 4-5 dollar raise and my own pc/phone. :(

It's not what you know, it's WHO you know.

Welcome to America.

Tru dat, I just got hired at a DME company only because they like to hire people away from the company I was at previously. I knew someone who knew someone that got my resume looked at. The American way :th_jester:

LOL Gotta love the way the "system" doesn't work.

I have Cisco server certifications, A+ Comp Tech Certs, and Panduit Cabling Certifications, yet I still work Parts at the local Dealership because I got a foot in and have the option of Manager when my boss retires in a couple years.

That... and there are VERY limited options for "newbz" in the IT field with no hard experience like myself. :( But at least I still gets some moneyz :o
