throttle issues

I have an 01 gtp that has the newer generation (04+?) intake and supercharger. I am having issues with the throttle sticking. I had previous issues with this and when i took it to the shop thry took the throttle body apart and cleaned it, but said that it looked bad and that i should probably get a new one. They wanted $800 for the part and $200 for labor. I looked online and found a northstar throttle body conversion kit for $579 at 3800 performance. It states that it is for 97-08 grand prix. My question is with the different generation intake, will this still bolt up? My assumption is that it would since it says it's for 97-08 and even though it's a different intake, it stall falls within that range, but we know where assumtions get us. Am i getting in over my head? How hard would this install be? Should i just try cleaning the throttle body i have again? Any input is appreciated.

So you have an 01 GTP with a Gen V top swap. You likely have a throttle body adapter running the factory throttle body. If you are not running extensive mods the factory replacement will do you just fine. $800 for the part is BS and it only takes five minutes to swap them, you can do it your self with a trip to the part store. Post pics and additional info for further help.

How do you know your TB is "bad"? How is it defective?

If you're stock, the N* TB is too big and not worth going from progressive to linear throttle style.
