Throttle body problems...

I break things.
So, did the LIM, aluminum elbows, and water pump yesterday. Cleaned EVERYTHING, and now my throttle body doesn't want to wake up. It will start, rev slightly and then just idle. Its throwing every sort of throttle control code possible and its not responding to the pedal. After having a friend give me a bump and a push, revs jumped up to 1500 and I barely made it home... Its the electronic throttle body that comes on the 2004 GPs, is there something I can do before getting a new one? Cuz I need a working car for the two weeks it will take for it to get here...
 


I know that this probably goes without saying, but did you plug it back in? all connections made and no fuses blown?
 
Yup, everything checks out, I even tested the pins at the harness and I have voltage where I need it, but no response from the servo in the throttle body... I thought I did pretty well getting the lower intake gaskets, upper gasket, new water pump and aluminum coolant elbows in, along with cleaning 10 years of black enameled sludge out of the intake manifolds and throttle body... It was drizzling when I got everything back together, but I can't see that as having been a problem since my clothes were barely damp when I got done. It doesn't die 3 second after I start it anymore, and after it evens out (I'm guessing the rough idle at first is from the nonexistent throttle control, and not a problem with a vacuum line or anything) it sounds so much better than before... A nice, smooth growl instead of an asthmatic purr. Seriously though, that...tar or whatever it was, was a pain and a half to get it all out. Had to resort to a wire brush and steel wool with some heavy duty solvent to get the worst of it out, and it still wasn't perfect. But anyways, problem at hand.
 
One other thing, there was a black insert inside the plenum, looked kind of like a wierd bug with no head, I see the purpose for it but is there someone who has taken it out and is it better or worse? Just wondering if that or the little plastic tube do anything wonderful or amazing...or just sit there and get in the way.
 
Even with the engine not running and the key on, the throttle body should respond to the throttle pedal. Seems odd timing that it did it after the intake gaskets.
 


No, I've had that done on my wife's G6 and haven't had any problems. Usually when something fails like this it'll throw a code and tell you whether it's the pedal or the throttle body.
 
Please post all the codes and names that it is throwing.

Also.. remove the connector again and ensure no pins got bent, the reinstall.
 
The codes that I'm seeing from the torque app are: P0120, P0220, which are both throttle/pedal position sensor/switch A circuit and B circuit, respectively; P1125, P1516, P1518, and P2125, which are APP system/ throttle control motor/ throttle position sensor, throttle actuator control module, electronic throttle module to PCM communication, and throttle/pedal position sensor/switch E circuit; respectively. I'm going to double check all of the fuses, but I didn't see any blown...
 
And after clearing all fault codes the only one to come up is P2101, which reads as throttle actuator control motor circuit range/performance.

UPDATE! I pulled the throttle body off, modified it slightly to get it open, and pulled it apart... Don't know how many people have seen the inside of the housing, but it's basically the black plastic cover is a sealed circuit board, with two connectors straight to the motor. There is a reduction gear between the motor and the butterfly valve, which has springs holding it in place. There is one adjustment screw for either idle or choke, can't really tell, but the motor is wedged in to the housing pretty tight. The throttle position sensor is sealed into the black plastic cover, which has a gasket made out of similar material to the TB gasket. I'll post pics after I finish it, but all I've done so far is pull it apart and set it in the oven at 175 to try and dry out, it seems some form of moisture or coolant made it inside the housing. I plan on using some desiccant and very carefully coating the connectors in a thin layer of dielectric grease before putting everything back together and testing it.
 


of all the things... I forget the search function. Found a thread from Aug. 2012 throwing the same code, and I didn't pay it much heed because the MAF was perfectly fine before, but weird things happen. Lo and behold, however, when I put it all back together and reinstalled it, started and ran beautiful, nice and mean and growly, and the throttle body worked like a charm... then I remembered I forgot to plug in the MAF. the moment I did, it started sputtering and the throttle body decided to go to sleep, with the engine shuddering at a low idle. So I'm off to get MAF cleaner, and a lot of it, and hopefully I'm just an overthinking, stubborn neat-freak. (that throttle body looks really nice now, btw.........lol)
