Throttle Body Cables?

So my Grand Prix only has one throttle body cable, and I just took a look at my old man's Grand Prix and he has two... What exactly am i missing here?

I have the one with the seemingly adjustable plastic clip. I have also noticed his acceleration pedal is much firmer and more responsive - Any way to improve mine?
