I need to retap a water temp sensor on a buddy of mines 3.1 mpfi then put my old one in it. I need to know the thread size so I can retap it (the numbnut cross threaded his in).
 


I work at hardware part time, we have all sorts of metric fine threaded nuts/bolts (fine and extra fine).
We have the fine taps too. Is there a Do It Best around you?

Any Ace Hardware's?
Fastenal? (If you have one close to you, you'd be sol till Monday morning)

I'd say check Lowe's or Menards or the like, but I'm not sure that they'd have metric fine thread.
 
i was asking anyone if they knew so that i could order one online..... or if i have to from the dealer...
 


dealers not going to have a tap. Take the sensor to a machine shop and they will tell you the thread if you dont have a caliper or mic.
 
i have a caliper but its not gonna tell me the actual thread size... its a 16mm but whats the thread itself though?
