Thoughts on Turbo Cobalt SS?

Was looking TBSS the other day and a 09 Cobalt ss sedan popped up low miles looks likes it good shape small car but they make nice power with couple bolt ons and a tune...I know blue likes cobalts anyone else have good or bad thoughts about them?

Kinda cheaply made, but they're pretty sweet. I'd want one. I kinda like my sisters cobalt ss (NA) leather seats. Just the interior build is kinda crap, space is very limited. But gas mileage, modding capabilities, and ready power is pretty cool if you ask me.

my son had an 07 ss supercharged fun as hell to drive added header and tune sweet little ride man!he had a ball with it at the track.it was a stick car tho.i want to say 9.3 or better in the 1/8 mile?? i'll have to check, jimmy

He's lying. Private party on a 09 is less than $10k. Dealer KBB would be around $12k at most, and that is still too much.

Original MSRP was around $23k. Value drops around $5k in the first year alone. The fact that it is a low end economy car kills even more value.

Yeah he hung up on me when I said I wanted to pay 10k at most...but my roof started leaking today so compg is my only option till I see how expensive that will be

I love the balts. Have an SS/SC one and its a hoot to drive. The TC ones are direct injected so fuel becomes a problem at high hp levels. I prefer an SS/SC --> TC conversion.

I have a buddy with a tuned ss/tc on e50. It walked the hell out of my ecoboost f150. And I blasted him pretty good out of the hole.

Awesome cars. Great handlers, huge power potential, great fuel economy, nice seats. Unassuming looks. Interior is no worse or better than the Grand Prixs.

I love them personally.

A private party value for a very good condition with 50-70k miles and a sedan with turbo is around $11,000 per the internet.

I know the turbo sedans are alot more rare than the coupes.

agreed, the LSJ has a better short block than the LNF. Now days the LDK is all the rage

I have personally built a 05 LSJ with a HX35 7 blade and a 06 LSJ with a older HX35. They are a blast end of story.

If it was me, I would find a LSJ turbo swap it, and add Brembos. You will have a better vehicle (and cheaper) than finding a LNF

Well since my stupid cedar shake roof started leaking yesterday and most likely needs replaced and my first child is due in like 4 weeks all plans of getting a different car disappeared even if it's a cheap cobalt...one I was looking at was nice but the dealer was stupid to deal with...may just sell the compg and drive my Silverado
