Thoughts on the new Sumitomo HTR A/S?

I'm going to buy four new rubbers for my stock GTP wheels this winter, and I'm strongly considering Sumitomo HTR A/S P01 (H&V)

Anyone used these before? Tire racks tests rate them high, as do all the reviews but they are too new for real survey results. What do you guys think? Any good alternative suggestions for a New England winter tire that will still serve me well in good weather? I place high value on low road noise from my tires in addition to excellent grip in all conditions.

And as a side question, how much wider (if any) than 225 can I safely go with stock rims w/out rubbing or risk of rolling over the bead?

I talked to a guy at NTB the other day when I was getting my torque stars put on and he had nothing but good things to say about them. And all of the reviews i've read have been great. And to me the best part of what ive heard is how quiet they are. I plan on getting some of these tires in a few months and for 80ish a tire for a tire with that many good of reviews i say try them. Oh and i was wondering the same thing about wider tires to, 235/60/16's is another popular size tire but idk if they would be to tall for our cars and look weird lol, Or a set of 235/55/16's ? That size doesnt have many tire choices but it seems close to our stock size. im sure other members can chime in and tell us about those sizes. Good luck. :th_thumbsup-wink:

winter tires are fine being 225. wider tire means more chance of slipping on the snow.

people had 245's on stock wheels, but i wouldnt go over 235 honestly.
