Thoughts on 300C SRT8?

I'd love to educate you on this matter.

I would take the srt8 over any pre 11 GT though.
I just haven't seen any fast Mustangs in my area except the 900 some horsepower centrifugal blown one's AllOutPerformance in my area builds. I've heard of the supercharged 5.4L ones, but haven't seen any around here. Also haven't seen any with mileage reaching 200k. Had a guy with a 2005 and up Mustang GT try to race me with my GTP. Didn't even think he wanted to race so I gave him a jump and then got into it, when I hit second I pulled on him ridiculously. My build at the time wasn't all that either. My Honda was probably faster than that Mustang, lol. The new Mustangs though sound like they'll provide a challenge even for my upcoming build.

threadjack - regal, why do you have gapless rings? how does that even work?

They are to lower blow by. I'm trying them out, but there's negative and positive talk about them. Seems to depend on who you talk to. I got them on recommendation from my friend who used to be a machinist. He says they reduce oil breakdown and oil temps. Also gain horsepower. He uses them in his Motown block engine build putting down about 1100 HP (I say about cause he hasn't had it dynoed, but computer says that's where should be at with his build) As I said in another post I wouldn't be surprised if it put down more HP. Shredded brand new tires just going around the block lightly. They are a little more expensive though. Have to make sure your valve seals are good. My machinist that worked on my motor told me though they have more drag and reduce power. He also mentioned a motor that he thinks the top lip of the piston broke off because the guy was running gapless rings. So take your pick with the opinions. My friend says they're the best investment he made in his engine so that's why I got them. Can't say I've been able to try them yet because I've had some holdups on cylinder heads, but I'll soon have her together. If I remember right the SRT8 Cherokee worse handling than some new minivans! After reading that I'd never even think of owning one not to mention the gas milage on pretty much every dodge on the planet sucks balls.

Idk my new 11 ram hemi with multi dis will run with any new ford or Gm for gas mileage. With 390 hp! And I bet it smokes my gtp that some think are the fastest car's on the planet. " Mine seem's like a turd when I get out of a new srt 8 challenger or 300. Some of this **** makes me laugh.

Im sure you will love the 300 srt8 awesome driving car! And yes it will spank the gtp

Just my take on things

Hows that new Fiat truck treating you? :th_laugh-lol3:
And umm dodges still get ass for milage and still weigh a ton!
You think a 1st gen 300 SRT8 is fast? when a mild bolt on 4.6 GT mustang would spank one?

Oh and let me know when Dodge finally gets their heads out of their ass and puts a manual back in their "sports cars"!!!!

Ah they do have a manuel in the sports car! "Callenger 6 speed" know what your talking about before you go off

Curb weight 2011 ram 4x4 crew 5308. 2011 ford f150 4x4 crew 5577. If you were talking about challenger yes they could drop a few pounds but still a really fun car.

And the first fiat wont be out till maybe fall and that will be a 40 mpg car to compete with honda and toyota.

As for the rams they are rated at 20 this year and will be rated at 22 for 2012 with the new 6 speed tranny.

Just took a 2011 f150 on a 3 hr trip and got 16.9 when my truck runs 16.5 with five guys and a fishing boat on the same trip, and 18_ 20 empty. But this isnt about my truck.

And yes the first gen 300 srt8 is still a get up and go car just not as fast as the new ones.

Pot, meet kettle. I just learned that a Callenger was a sports car... Considering the source who seemingly believes Dodge produces a decent automobile, to say nothing of Fiat's reputation for Engineering excellence...:th_nervous:

Modern day muscle car? whatever you would like to call it. Im sure this was the model he was referring too. Or Viper?

However I do love the gtp! although it can be a pain in my a$$

If they actually build it I would buy it even with a slant 6.

Viper isn't in the same league. Also. for the money the Viper is a joke in itself.

For the record, the Challenger is nothing like it used to be...its now a heavy, oddball, Titanic of a car with a good exhaust note.

Suprised that dodge has manuals in the Challenger must have been only the 1st year or maybe 2 they didnt. but seriously anyone looked at the prices of a C5 Z06?!?!?!?!

Unless you need the 4 doors thats where Id put my money!

http://www.grandprixforums.net/why-not-buy-new-durango-45280.html The Durango in the video is bad enough, but 2000gtp86 said this: "i just got rid of my 2010 ram they are nice and have plenty of power but dont get the six speed auto with the tap shifter i only had 16,000 miles on it and was on my 3rd trans"

Thats odd all the 1500 tranny's are the same, 5 speed auto stick on the counsle with buckets, or bench seat with colum shifter but still has auto stick, just different location's.

3 trans would suck though.

Yeah the challenger didnt come with manuels right off the bat which was dumb! Way more fun factor
