Typical red/orange Permatex RTV... What didn't people believe? All Permatex RTV/Silicones have B or BR part numbers, along with a stocking number.
 
This stuff isn't your average RTV though.

Why buy so many colors. Most of them are now good for all vehicle fluids. It was different when blue was only for water and black was only for oil. Because then, Ultra copper was good for oil, water, gas and anything else possible. So therefore I typically buy copper only based on history.

Most of the RTV's though..are now good for all fluids and color really doesn't matter as much.
 


Makes me wonder why they do that too. I've noticed people wanting blue for water all the time, but saw it made little difference. I've used grey almost exclusively for the past few years, unless I needed the hi-temp from copper (cheap egr blockoff ftw). I've noticed some say "sensor safe" but what the heck kind of sensor is susceptible to RTV? I can't think of a sensor it would matter because RTV is a solid unless you got it in water first, and all water temp sensors have solid brass bottoms.

Anyway, just nice to ask opinions of a guy that's been around the block a few times.
